Sacrifice

If you have to compress your voice just to stay close to someone, what you’re holding onto isn’t connection. It’s a contract of silence fueled by fear. Peace that demands your muteness is at peace. It’s performance at the highest level.

Every time you betray your truth for the sake of keeping the room calm, you teach your mind, your heart and soul that honesty is dangerous and self-abandonment is survival. That’s not maturity. That’s a pattern of erosion masked in loyalty.

Those who are meant to walk with you won’t react to your emotional language. They won’t punish your needs or make your boundaries feel like burdens.

You’re not too much. You are simply misfitting the shape of a space that was never meant to hold your whole self.

You don’t have to set yourself on fire just to light someone else’s idea of peace.

Sometimes healing looks like exiting the room where your silence was praised louder than your presense ever was.

In Love and Light,

Steve
