Journey of Growth

You have to get to a place where you make a choice.

Not to just “let go” of things that over time you have woven into your identity. You have to amputate them, and you will be reminded your amputation will hurt.

Because part of you was infected with false hope. And the other part kept calling it “loyalty”. But how long?

Are you going to stay shackled to a memory that already divorced you in silence? How long?

You’re not in a healing phase, you’re in a re-birth. You’re being born again.

That version of you that begged and begged and begged for crumbs and renamed it comfort, that self is dying now.

And here’s the part that no one warned you about growth, it sometimes feels like grief, not because you’re losing them, but because you’re losing the delusion that they ever had the capacity to meet you where you are.

You don’t miss them, you miss the fantasy you built in the drought of your own neglect. You miss the story, not the characters.

So yea, you’re going through a phase. A phase where peace becomes too loud for your trauma to sit comfortably anymore.

A phase where silence isn’t a threat.

It’s a sanctuary.

In Love and Light,

Steve
